A collective assessment of the Decade for People of African Descent

The 8th annual summit took place on January 25, 2025 in Montreal. This landmark summit provided a unique opportunity to take stock of the research and publications of the Observatory of Black Communities of Quebec, as well as the progress made since the proclamation of the Decade for People of African Descent by the United Nations in 2014.

The impact of the Summit

This eighth edition in Montreal brought together leaders of Black communities to take stock of the Decade for People of African Descent and identify the challenges to be met in the future.

The discussions focused on key themes: health equity, education, social justice, entrepreneurship, and technological challenges. More than just an event, this summit represents an ongoing commitment to sustainable change and improving the living conditions of Black communities in Quebec.
